Now that the hard work is complete, it is time to appreciate your new home. A building inspector performs a walk-through to confirm if the work is up to code including mechanical, plumbing, and electrical, paperwork has been completed, any violations have been resolved, and necessary approvals have been received from local agencies. If the home is suitable for occupancy, the building inspector issues a certificate of occupancy (CO).
Before you move in, Welcome Homes will invite you to the final walk-through and together will create a punch list of any outstanding work that needs to be done. We double-check that everything has been completed to your specifications: appliances are functional, AC/heating/ventilation works, and note if any walls need repainting or touch-ups. When punch list items have been rectified, it is time for move-in day.
As you settle into your new custom home, Welcome Homes wants to make sure you know how to properly care for it. Our maintenance manual shows how to clean and treat the countertop, how to change air filters for the AC, and much more so your new home is preserved for years to come.
If you ever have a question about your home’s warranty, appliance warranty, or anything else, feel free to contact the Welcome Homes customer experience team. We are always happy to help.
