Director of Content Marketing

Job Description:

Welcome Homes is changing the way people buy homes and we invite you to be part of the build! We are a fast-growing, venture-backed startup constructing new homes that are purchased online, customized by the customer, and then delivered in as little as 6 months at an incredible value. 

We’re looking for a Director of Content Marketing. You will be responsible for creating, improving, and publishing content to achieve our business goals. The Director of Content Marketing should also demonstrate exceptional writing skills and excel at content optimization and brand consistency. If you are creative, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator, we want to hear from you. 

The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable in a player-coach role, managing a small team while also responsible for day-to-day execution against short, medium, and long-term company goals and milestones.


  • Work directly with the CMO to own and implement our brand & content marketing strategy

  • Set organizational goals, objectives, and measurement systems for executing your strategy

  • Manage content team to continue building out content strategy, inbound programs, and content distribution

  • Manage the production of social posts, articles, videos, email newsletters, and photoshoots ensuring content is of high quality and aligns with the Welcome Homes brand image

  • Collaborate with department leads across the organization (Product & Sales) to ensure that we are developing content to support their initiatives.

  • Manage external agencies and freelancers

  • Distribute content to online channels and social media platforms to increase our organic web traffic and audience

  • Develop and share our editorial content calendar across the company

  • Develop and document audience personas and distribute that knowledge effectively throughout the organization

What you’ll need: 

  • Experience hiring and managing copywriters, designers, and content producers

  • You are a natural storyteller with the ability to form a narrative and refine a message regardless of audience (customers, internal teams, investors, etc)

  • SEO experience to improve our search engine ranking of content

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Experience working with a variety of media and formats

  • BS in Journalism, Marketing, or relevant field

  • Experience developing and distributing quality content at scale

  • Ability to balance the analytical aspects of marketing without compromising creativity and vision

  • Self-starter, dynamic, proactive

  • Exceptional project management skills
